ICS soak testing for Droid Bionic begins, official update may follow soon after

Despite the numerous Ice Cream Sandwich firmwares that have leaked over the last couple of months for the Droid Bionic, Motorola – or Verizon – seemingly isn’t yet ready to roll out the official update. Last we checked, Moto said on its website that the Android 4.0 upgrade will still arrive in Q4. Now, there’s more reason to believe that the software bump is about to become a reality.

Several owners of the Droid Bionic have received invites from Motorola to take part in the ICS soak test for the phone. Apparently, the soak test has already started for many.

Though it’s not always certain, a soak test is basically the last phase before an official roll out of a software update. Assuming that the response from soak testers is mostly positive, it shouldn’t take long for Motorola to send out the update on a wider scale. Those who are still clinging on the hope of seeing ICS this year on their Droid Bionic can hopefully breathe a sigh of relief in the next couple of weeks or perhaps even days.

What say you, Droid Bionic owners, excited that you’ll be getting ICS before the turn of the year?
